This is essentially my “scratch and dent” bargain basement bin. I was tired of seeing students and hobbyists spending twice as much on reeds that were just garbage to put it mildly. Meanwhile, I’d meet others that either couldn’t afford to buy enough reeds, or found so few of what they bought to be playable, that they would hang on to reeds way too long, until they were covered with mold. YUCK!

Every reedmaker has to make a choice with reeds that are less than ideal. Some pass them off as their regular product, others throw them out and have to raise their prices to make up for the time and materials spent. And some just leave their reeds unfinished and call them “student” reeds.

But I say, “why should the world be denied cheap, decent, PLAYABLE reeds just because reedmakers are afraid to admit or show off their flawed creations”?
